Poplar ArtCraft is pleased to present a new exhibition by weaver Nara Guichon. Guichon has established two Art-Textile Ateliers on the Santa Catarina Coast in southern Brazil. The ateliers produce hand woven wearable textiles and other products utilizing recycled materials (notably fishing nets!) She is dedicated to the environment and her community, employing women from the surrounding area in the production of her work. The exhibition runs from December 15 to March 14 in gallery2

Apparently Electric Dress (a re-construction) was recently featured in Kassel at the Venice Biennale. (via Jen Graves at The Stranger)
