To view other images visit my website.

I am pleased to share that this work will be shown this summer in Deschambault-Grondines, Quebec for the Biennale international du lin. The theme for the craft venue at La Chevrotière mill is “lieu de mémoire” (places of memory) curated by Denis Longchamps. He writes,

History and memory are related, but distinct concepts. While history turns toward a more or less distant past, memory, anchored in the present moment, interprets it: through memory, we hold on to, forget and rearrange, as we like, the events, images and people who have shaped us. Memory is embodied in “places of memory” in a way that depends on the will of human beings to remember, and to hold on to memory itself.

Other artists taking part in the exhibition include: Sarah Alford, J. Penney Burton, Monique Giard, Rosie Godbout, Veronika Horlik, Michele Lapointe, Dawn McNutt, Vita Plume, Mireille Racine, Alain Taral and Liz Williamson. There are other venues for art and fashion featuring the work of artists and designers from Canada and around the world.

The exhibition runs from June 24 to September 27, 2009. The opening reception will be held Sunday afternoon June 14, 2009. I will be travelling to Quebec in June and will blog the exhibition and related events. Stay tuned…
